Paul has 25 years of experience in the food distribution business. From 1997 to 2009, he was President of FreshPoint San Francisco where he was responsible for all operations, sales, purchasing, financial management and food safety programs. Prior to this, he was VP of Purchasing at FreshPoint San Francisco for nine years. In that role, Paul was responsible for perishables procurement with a strong emphasis on local, sustainable, seasonal and organic purchasing. In 2000, he assisted in the sale of FreshPoint to SYSCO Corporation. In 2004, he was recognized as a premier SYSCO Foodservice Distributor. In 2008, FreshPoint San Francisco reached sales of $55 million with EBITA in excess of $6 million. In 2007, Paul became a founding member of the Farm to Institution Project Team, a collaboration of growers, suppliers, distributors and academic institutions formed to study the impact to society of local, sustainable and organic produce. In his early career, Paul was the Assistant Operations Manager at Lee Ray-Tarantino for six years with responsibility for hiring, training and managing. He holds a B.S. in Commerce, with majors in finance and marketing, from the University of Santa Clara.
